Sea Kayaking

Sea Kayaking is a great way to get on the water to see remote areas under your own steam.  We have chosen a mixture of destinations to offer you a wide variety of kayaking experiences.  In almost any given month there is some where you can go on a sea kayaking trip which is at the same time appropriate for novice and advanced paddlers.  The emphasis at the various destinations ranges from snorkeling with sea lions and orca or whale watching to hiking and exploring the islands and canyons you'll visit.

Following is a brief description of the different trips:

Kayaking on Lake Powell offers a hand's on paddling adventure with trips to accommodate both the novice and experienced paddler alike.  Trips range from 15 to 40 miles and last 5-6 days.  The real value of Lake Powell as a touring destination lies in its unusual slick rock side canyons sculpted incised into the Navajo sandstone . Glen Canyon's 94 incomparable side canyons are all accessible to kayaks though many are inaccessible to motor boats.

Kayaking in British Columbia takes place in theInside Passage of the Vancouver Island region which offers an ideal combination of terrain, wildlife and beautiful summer weather. These sea kayaking trips are wildlife adventures, since sea kayaking the northwest coast is the best way on earth to encounter marine wildlife, not to mention the birds and land mammals that inhabit the skies and forests of the archipelago.  Trips are 4-7 days depending on itinerary chosen.

Baja Kayaking offers three different sea kayaking itineraries. March-April and October-November offer the Island and Coastal sea kayaking trips.  These offer the opportunity to explore the coast between Loreto and La Paz.  Depending on dates you depart from one place and end up at the other.  Trips are 10 days. Espiritu Santo, is located just 18 miles from La Paz and it is surrounded with turquoise water.  These trips incorporate a base camp and you can create your own trip with a minimum stay of two nights.  Best times are March-April and Oct-December. Stays on the island offer the opportunity to snorkel with the sea lions at the Los Islotes rookery.

Alaska sea kayaking trips are run June-September and offer glaciers, whales and great wildlife viewing.  Most trips are 7 days long however there are a few longer and shorter options.  Starting points for most trips are Juneau or Gustavus.  Minimum age for these trips is 14.

Sea Kayak Glover's Reef in Belize combines all of the elements of a multi sport vacation with a relaxed and flexible schedule of a private island resort. Long Caye, one of the islands on the Glover's Reef Atoll located 35 miles from the mainland and encompasses more than 700 pristine patch reefs brimming with a rich variety of marine life. On the inside of the island the warm, shallow water invites snorkeling, windsurfing and a calm launch site for kayaking excursions and instruction. These trips are 9 days and run November-May.
