Rafting Trips on the San Juan River


Itinerary at a Glance:

The San Juan offers a one day motorized, at low water and a one day oar powered trip at high water. The 3-7 day trips are run by oar powered, wooden dories and inflatable kayaks. The season runs from March-September with a minimum age of 5-7yrs. 

 

Option 1 One Day Trips

Day 0:  Arrive in Bluff, UT overnight.  Lodging is additional.

Day 1:  Meet the outfitter at their office at 8am for a short van ride to the river for a day of rafting and exploring.  Arrive at Mexican Hat launch ramp for a short ride back to Bluff, arriving at about 5pm. This trip covers 26 river miles.

 

Option 2 Upper San Juan

Day 0:  Arrive in Bluff, UT overnight.  Lodging is additional.

Day 1:  Meet your outfitter in the morning for transfer to the river.  You will spend the next 3-4 days rafting and exploring.

Last Day:  Arrive at Mexican Hat, UT for a van transfer back to Bluff, arriving around 5pm.  This trip covers 26 river miles.

 

Option 3 Lower San Juan

Day 0:  Arrive in Bluff or Blanding, UT overnight.  Lodging is additional.

Day 1:  Meet your outfitter in the morning for a van transfer to the river at Mexican Hat.  You will spend the next 3-5 days rafting and exploring.

Last Day:  Arrive at Clay Hills Crossing near Lake Powell for a van transfer back to your starting city.  This trip covers 58 river miles.

 

Option 4 Full San Juan

Day 0: Arrive in Bluff or Blanding, UT overnight.  Lodging is additional

Day 1: Meet your outfitter in the morning for a van transfer to the river for 4-7 days of rafting and exploring.

Last Day: Arrive at Clay Hills Crossing near Lake Powell for a van transfer back to your start city.  This trip covers 84 river miles.
