Rafting Trips in Desolation Canyon

FAQs: At the start of the trip. The starting point for all trips is either Moab or Green River, UT.  In most cases a general trip orientation is held on the evening before the trip launches to issue some river equipment discuss the itinerary and answer any last minute questions.  Transportation is provided to the river by your outfitter.  At the end of the trip you are returned to your starting point.   Camping / Toilet Facilities Camping in the canyon is one of the great pleasures of the trip. You may hike, fish, read or relax and enjoy the view of the river and the canyon. Outfitters either provide a full sleep kit or you can rent one for the trip. Sleep kits consist of a freshly laundered sleeping bag, an inflatable sleeping pad and ground tarp which make sleeping on the ground comfortable. Tents are also available for rental in case of rain. A clean camp toilet and hand wash system in a private setting is the first thing set up upon arrival in camp and the last to be dismantled the next morning. It is similar to home except with a better view and it doesn't flush. A separate day use version is always available for your comfort and peace of mind. Age limitations Most outfitters want kids to be 5-8 depending on the river level. This can be a great trip for kids but in considering at trip make sure to think about the child's camping experience and overall preparedness for living outside.    Gratuities It is customary to tip the river crew if you received a satisfactory trip.  The acknowledgement of a job well done is greatly appreciated by the crew members.  A tip is optional but as a guideline we would suggest approximately 5% of the cost of your trip.   Meals.
