Weather on the rivers in Idaho is unpredictable.  You can have frost in July or it can be intensely hot.  The best way to deal with these extremes is to be prepared.  Layering is the best way to approach this type of seasonality.  Keep in mind that cotton once wet will keep you cool so synthetic fabrics are always best since they dry quickly and can keep you warm even when wet.  All gear should be brought in a soft sided duffel bag
