About The Boats
Oar Rafts:
Oar rafts are 18' inflatable  rubber rafts which carry 4-5 people and are rowed by your guide with a set of oars. Normally 5-7 boats travel together and group sizes are 20-22 people.
Paddle Rafts:
Paddle rafts are 18' inflatable rubber rafts. They carry 6-8 people, each with a canoe type  paddle in their hands plus a guide called the "paddle captain" who calls the paddling commands. This is a team effort boat. Only a couple of outfitters in the canyon offer paddle boats on their trips. Usually one paddle boat accompanies an oar powered trip and is available to people to share. For the avid paddler/adventurer there are a few All Paddle trips. These trips consist solely of paddle rafts and offer the highest participatory trip in the canyon.
The Dory:
: 
Dories are brightly painted 18' hard-hulled double ended wooden or aluminium boats which carry 4 people and are rowed by your guide with a set of oars. They maintain the history of wooden boat trips in the canyon and it is said they offer the best ride!
